For the past three and half years our church has been working to find a location on which to develop a new ministry centre. This has been a massive project and has taken much longer than was originally envisaged, but at the end of July we reached another important milestone. With the agreement of the Anglican Church Property Trust we have been able to secure the option to purchase 32 South Street in Rydalmere.
This site meets the requirements we set out at the beginning of the process:
- Location – the site is in a much more visible location on a wide street surrounded by office buildings. The Rydalmere Park is diagonally opposite.
- Accessibility – the site is easily accessible by car from Victoria Road and has over 50 parking spaces. The site is also easily accessible by public transport with express buses on Victoria Road and local buses travelling along South Street.
- Facilities – the site has an existing building that can be adapted easily for church use and will provide more suitable accommodation for our activities.
- Future – this site is as large as our two current sites combined. It includes a vast warehouse which can be let out in the short term to provide the church with an additional source of income. This additional space gives the church options for future development.
Please pray and encourage the Wardens and Parish Council as this project moves forward. For more information see the “Down to Business” page.
